Silent Friend (2025)

A majestic, mysterious gingko tree residing in a medieval German university town connects three stories of human curiosity across different eras. Spanning over a century, from 1908, the university’s first female student discovers natural patterns of the universe through photography while confronting misogyny. In 1972, an awkward student cares for and attempts to communicate with his crush’s geranium. During the 2020 Covid lockdown, a neuroscientist from Hong Kong expands his research from the minds of babies to the minds of plants.
