The Woman Of Wrath (杀夫) (1984)

Young fatherless Lin Shih witnesses her mother selling her body to survive and later taking her own life after being rebuked by elder relatives. After growing up, she marries a butcher Chiang-Shui, who treats her as a tool for his sexual needs and as his property. The abusive marriage, village gossip and childhood trauma gradually push her toward mental breakdown. One night, while Chiang-Shui sleeps, she takes up the butcher’s knife and kills him.
