            The Thing (1982)
Did you know Filmhouse is running a year-long programme called Music in Film? The month of July explores Jazz in Film where jazz features heavily in the film's story or soundtrack. If you're looking for something a little strange, I suggest Seijun Suzuki's colourful Tokyo Drifter. Or strip the colour away with Louis Malle's pensive Elevator to the Gallows.
I've also just found out 10th July is "Ultraman Day." MINT Museum is celebrating with an Ultraman film, and they're sure to be doing something special on that day if you're looking for some childhood nostalgia. 
SFS Somerset adds an old-school disaster film The Towering Inferno to their slate this week, while AFA's sci-fi programme continues with John Carpenter's creature classic The Thing this weekend. There's more than what I've mentioned above this week, enjoy your time at the movies!
