Premiered in competition at the Festival de Cannes 2025, the film won the Jury Prize and quickly stood out for its radical, trance-like style. Critically acclaimed, Sirat built an impressive awards run: it also received a Special Mention from the Art et Essai jury at Cannes and won the prestigious Gold Hugo at the Chicago International Film Festival. The film accumulated numerous nominations throughout the season, including at the European Film Awards, Golden Globes, and Academy Awards (Best International Feature and Best Sound), confirming its strong international recognition.
Synopsis
Sirāt (2025)
A man and his son arrive at a rave lost in the mountains of Morocco. They are looking for Marina, their daughter and sister, who disappeared months ago at another rave. Driven by fate, they decide to follow a group of ravers in search of one last party, in hopes Marina will be there.
