Luna Papa (1999)

A wave of scandal has descended on a widowed family in Tajikistan. Aspiring actress Mamlakat, 17, lives with her father and brother until she is seduced by a self-proclaimed actor from a travelling troupe. The stranger vanishes, and Mamlakat soon realises she is pregnant. Distraught yet determined, the family of three embarks on a cross-country chase to find the culprit and avenge their family’s honour.
